Peerblock substitute

Hi,

I've been looking for a PeerBlock substitute for Fedora and there seems to be only two possibilities moblock or IPlist. However all the support on both projects seems to be very old and I can't get any of the two to install (or even go close).

I've got the source for IPList and followed the instructions but I get compiler errors almost immediately.

Am I missing something, why aren't peer blocking software more popular on Linux? Anybody can give me some tips on how to install any of the two?

Most of the peer to peer software have the IP blocking feature (either inbuilt or as a plugin) thus negating the necessity for a separate software like Peerblock.

Thanks for the replies. The one integrated with the utility didn't have the option to automatically update the list. But I created a script to do it so I don't require extra software.

Oh yes, they do! Depending on which software you are talking about, you can input a blocklist URL and set it to update at user specified intervals. I know you can do this in Deluge and Transmission. I prefer Tixati, since it has the ability to input multiple blocklist URL's, all the others manage only one (even if it is a bit heavier on system resources).

I use qbittorrent which doesn't have that feature. I've read about Deluge and Transmission, but I like the integrated search feature of qbittorrent that's why I chose that one. The script simply downloads the latest list from the net and concatenates them into a file that can be read by qbittorrent. Easy enough.
