Installing SMPlayer

Hi,

I am very new to Linux/Fedora and haven't used it before. Can someone please advise on the easiest way to install SMPlayer.

I saw on a website that yum install smplayer could be used when logged in as root from Terminal, however, when I try this a message comes up stating SMPlayer couldn't be found, even though I downloaded smplayer-0.6.8.tar.bz2 - is this not the right file?

Any help would be much appreciated - as I said I am very new to Linux so anything via GUI would be best.

Cheers,

Dave.

Smplayer is in the rpmfusion repo.

enable rpmfusion then install smplayer

Code:
rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm

yum install smplayer

Hi,

I have tried this but it fails. 'Requested URL returned error 404.' Is there any other URL that can be used?

Cheers,

Run the commands in post #2 again and post any error output.
