Trouble installing Flash

Everytime I try to install Adobe Flash, I have problems. I go the RPM route or the YUM route and still have problems. I've even tried yum a 2nd time and it says its already installed, but if I go to a website that requires Flash, it says pluggin missing. On the other hand, if I go and install JAVA it somehow installs the pluggins and everything works from there on. Can someone tell me what I'm missing on the original install ? Thanks.

Hello brownwrap

You'll have to help us a little more than that.

Which browser are you using and what does:

Code:
yum list installed | grep flash-plugin
from the command line return?

Well, currently its working because I just installed Java, so the problem isn't there. I am using Firefox.

[root@localhost Downloads]# yum list installed |grep flash-plugin
flash-plugin.i386 10.0.42.34-release
[root@localhost Downloads]#

Hello brownwrap

Distinctly odd, I've just checked my Flash in Firefox and it's working fine. What made you think to install Java? Was something not working previously. Fedora comes with OpenJDK and like a lot of people I've never needed to install anything to get Java working.

Did you install Java before Flash or the other way round?

I assume you have an ordinary 32bit installation?

I remembered the last time I had trouble with the Flash plugin, I download JRE from Sun and installed it and Flash started working.

So I tried that again and sure enough Flash now works.
