I understand your concern. In Southern California, any time that there hasn't been any significant rain for at least 60 days is referred to as Fire Season. And, as there are mountains covered with chaparral (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaparral
) running through the city of Los Angeles, that can be a major concern, especially as Fire Season can turn into Flood Season with remarkably little warning.
BTW, there actually are four seasons in LA: Fire, Flood, Earthquake and Riot.
