Is there an outbox for email sent from web pages?

Many sites have a web page with an "email me" interface that apparently lets me send an email. Do emails sent this way get copied into some outbox on my computer?

I've found that in order for some web interfaces to work, I must have set-up the default email program - in my case the default is Thunderbird. However, I don't find emails sent from webpage interfaces in any Thunderbird outbox.

Not unless the web page opens your email client via a mailto link. Normally if you are filling out a form to send an email it has no interaction at all with your on computer email client. Some companies recognise people contacting them want a copy of correspondence sent in so will send a copy and a message to say it has been received to your email inbox.

thread moved to wibble because it isn't really fedora specific. no operating system differs in regards to this particular question.
