Connecting to the Internet from home

Hi. I recently switched from Ubuntu to Fedora 18 because it's much closer to Red Hat, which I use at work. I'm running on a Toshiba Satellite Pro L500. I prefer to use network.service rather than NetworkManager.service.

I managed to connect to my network at work by twiddling the ifcfg files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts, but I cannot get it to connect to the WiFi at home. I get the dreaded

Failed to start LSB: Bring up/down networking

message from systemctl status network.service.

What's that? And how do I fix it.

M[any]TIA, Matt

Don't have a direct answer to your question but I do have a suggestion while reading and pondering this thread. Stop the network service, start the NetworkManager service and see if that allows you to choose your wireless access point. If it does, good. Now disconnect and stop NetworkManager. Start the network service and do your wireless connection thing.
