I'm having trouble getting normal users to print on fedora 16 from the print dialog box. When a user attempts to print - everything looks like it should work - the dialog box for "processing" comes up, then the print complete one - but nothing makes it to the networked printer. Is there some new magical permissions thing in fedora 16 to allow users to print?
system-config-printer
This works fine- I've tried it as root set to lpd, ipp, raw, and the test pages all come out fine. This was the procedure for the last few fedoras - it's been pretty straightforward until F16.
normal user - print to file (output.ps), then CLI lpr output.ps
This works fine - a little cumbersome - but it prints, which points to a CUPS thing?
Failure mode - Printing from the dialog box:
Job goes to queue - queue shows job completed successfully.
On the print (Ricoh CL1000N networked PS printer) - it says "Job was reset"
Logs:
/var/log/cups error and access logs show no errors.
SELINUX and iptables are both shut off.
Anyone else have this problem?
