Auto Login in Level 5?

In level 3, I can successfully auto login a user into x window.

but how auto login works in level 5?

When I shutdown my pc by shutdown -h now
it shows some errors text like in a command console
can this screen be skipped or replaced by an image?

You might have hit a bug... maybe. GDM in Fedora 11 was buggy, but I figured it would have been fixed in an update by now, then again my bug report never saw a response so...

Try using TimedLogin instead. ;-)

TimedLogin=YOURUSERNAME
TimedLogin=1

It'll still take like 3 seconds for it to login, for whatever reason it still does a countdown, but it should work consistently at least.

For my situation, AutomaticLogin and TimedLogin not good for me.
finally I edit /etc/gdm/gdm.schemas and seems work fine for me.

@uativan - your solution appears to have solved the inconsistent working of the previous solution I have been using since Fedora 9 of editing the /etc/gdm/custom.conf file.

Thanks for sharing - I was getting really really mad that automatic login was now only working half the time as I have setup a bunch of kiosk systems that need to auto login.

Gnome will be revamp shortly. Yeah, its there turn now. KDE did theirs already. Long feat.
