Question Minecraft Black Screen

Alright, I have looked everywhere for a solution to this. I have the JDK 6 installed at the moment, and for some reason that I can not explain, every time that I start Minecraft, the thing shows a black screen, and does not load. Is there any way that you guys know of that could potentially solve this?

Re: Minecraft Black Screen

Hey ImFluffeh,

Same issue here on fc15 and fc17!
I believe the issue was caused by upgrading the akmod package to akmod-nvidia 295.53 since that was the only package I upgraded.
So I used yumex on my fc15 to downgrade the akmod package to 280.13 and boom issue fixed it may be worth trying yourself. if that fails
you could try.

4. Go to your home folder and press ctrl + h to show your hidden files
5. Go to .minecraft/bin and copy the matching .jar files from the jar folder in the zip that you downloaded into there
6. Copy the .so files from the native/linux folder in the zip file to .minecraft/bin/natives
7. Launch Minecraft
I just need to try the same on my fc17 installation now!

Kindest, regards.

Re: Minecraft Black Screen

I found a solution to the problem, but on Ubuntu. If you use the OpenJDK 6 to open it, instead of the standard Oracle JDK, you are able to do it

Re: Minecraft Black Screen

I can attest to Oracle Java being broken for us. I had Installed Oracle to see if a bug in an AD&D tool was OpenJDK's fault. It wasn't, and I left it there. I just decided to test it, and I got the black screen. An alternatives configure fixed that.
