Question Fedora-17-x86_64-DVD.iso fault

A bit torrent download and two downloads from the Fedora site directly produced disks which when booted brought up the splash screen, allowed moving to the choice screen, but then rebooted without progressing to the Fedora download and configuration.

The Fedora 16 64 bit download worked perfectly with a clean installation, making me suspect there's a problem with the iso.

Did you verify the checksum of the iso after downloading it? That would go towards answering any questions about the iso itself.

Exclamation Re: Fedora-17-x86_64-DVD.iso fault

The bitstream iso checksum was correct. I burned and verified a fourth disc to be sure.

An attempt to boot from the disc brings up the splash screen, when dropping to the menu to check the disc before installation causes CDROM read activity for about 30 seconds, then a spontaneous reboot.

Again the burner and reader could be at fault, but performed perfectly creating a Fedora 16 iso and boot disc.

O.K. I have a suggestion to verify if the problem is with DVD/reader. You could check if the DVD works if you attempt the same installation on Virtualbox directly from the DVD. If this works without problems, then one more item can be crossed off the list ...

There could be a better way to go about this - but, right now, this is the best I can think of .. Hope this is of some help ...
