Evil, qfertig's a new user and you're giving him a link to .deb packages plus

I make sure to do a make clean before the make. Then when I get to the modprobe wl it hangs the system. And upon reboot it still hangs. Only way out is to use an older kernel and remove the wl.ko file from the /lib/modules/(uname -r)/extra/wl
Got it working Initially I was using the package wireless-bcm43142-dkms-6.20.55.19_amd64.deb to build from source. I found a newer one named wireless-bcm43142-dkms-6.20.55.19-1_amd64.deb and when I compiled and installed from that, it worked.

That's going to scare almost anyone!
Obviously you know what you're doing and how to do it. But unless you can give details, this is going to be well beyond a noob's capabilities.

Re: Dell 1525 Wireless problem
The link was just to the one post, when it's the whole thread that's the key: http://www.forums.fedoraforum.org/sh...d.php?t=283824 and on the second page, PabloTwo's got the link to the current driver.
In any case, thanks for pointing the OP to the right area. Personally, I'd still run off screaming.

Re: Dell 1525 Wireless problem
Thanks guys! I've been trying to find a solution so I'm going to try the methods posted in this thread. My bro told me I'd have to compile my own driver. I'm a noob and to me it sounds scary. Thanks though guys for your repsonses.
