another day, another exploit - HP audio driver acting as keylogger

The joys of living in an age when researchers publish findings on the web for all and sundry to see and panic over or write something to take advantage of.

Why do media playback/volume control keys need to be listened for? seems like a load of bull to me

the advisory contains a list of affected HP notebooks and tablets:

Another reason why I feel validated not running Windows (any version) as my main OS - only in VMs - and having done so for nearly 10 years.

The key logger makes a nice adjunct to the Intel and Defender security bugs. Now I can easily log in and see whether I have to buy or sell my MSFT shares. I am posting this from Satya's laptop of course.
