FC25: mutter and 24 bit frame buffer

All,

I am using a system which has a very stupid 24 bit frame buffer device (i.e. no alpha channel).

Mutter tries to ask for a 32 bit colour depth and the driver says sorry I can't give you that color depth and the whole thing dies nastily.

So a few questions :-

1. Is 24 bit color depth supported by mutter/wayland/gnome

2. Why is it requesting a 32 bit color depth when only a 24 bit mode is available.

3. How would i trace this in mutter ?

Si
