mba 2013 suspend issue

I installed fedora 21 on a 2013 macbook air. Everything works quite well except this strange suspend issue. If I try to suspend by closing the lid nothing happens at all. systemd recognizes that the lid has closed, but will not suspend.

However, if I toggle my wifi off and then on, and then try closing the lid, it suspends fine, and will continue to suspend fine on lid-close until I reboot, at which time the issue re-occurs until I once again toggle the wifi.

Journal output of lid close before toggling wifi:

Mar 23 12:30:31 localhost.localdomain systemd-logind[749]: Lid closed.
Mar 23 12:30:35 localhost.localdomain systemd-logind[749]: Lid opened.
Mar 23 12:31:21 localhost.localdomain systemd-logind[749]: Lid closed.
Mar 23 12:31:25 localhost.localdomain systemd-logind[749]: Lid opened.

And closing the lid, after toggling wifi:
Mar 23 12:33:33 localhost.localdomain systemd-logind[749]: Lid closed.
Mar 23 12:33:33 localhost.localdomain systemd-logind[749]: Suspending...
Mar 23 12:33:33 localhost.localdomain NetworkManager[901]: <info> sleep requested (sleeping: no enabled: yes)
Mar 23 12:33:33 localhost.localdomain NetworkManager[901]: <info> sleeping...

I'm using the latest kernel 3.19.1, but the same problem occurred with the previous 3.18 kernel.
