Driver / software for automatic feeder scan device?

Hi all

Recently, I bought the HP Officejet 4500 especially because of the automatic feeder for the scanner. The device is not supported by Fedora, but I found the driver for it at the HP driver site for Fedora 11 and / or 12.

Now, I have two questions. First, I wonder why these drivers are not part of a Fedora distribution yet. Is there still some issue with it going on (something related to my second question or something completely different)?

Second, the software (Sane) doesn't recognize different sheets of paper. When I place some 20 sheets of paper in the automatic feeder, the scanner scans them all, but only the first sheet is processed by Sane.

Now, I saw that Sane in Fedora 13 is different than in Fedora 11 or 12. I expect it is improved, but I have not been able to work with it yet. Can I expect that it does recognize different sheets of paper from a scan with an automatic feeder?

If so, then I am very curious when I can expect the next upgrade at the HP driver site...

Hello,

Not sure about your questions, but I used this command line to auto feed.

## ADF Scan ( auto sheet feeder )
/usr/bin/scanimage -b --batch-scan=yes --resolution 200 -y 270 --mode Color --progress

Then I used convert to change the files to .pdf

Hi Scott32746

It works!

That is not an answer to my questions, but a solution to my problems.

Thanks!
