Cross Compiling with Mock

I'm trying to test building some packages on other architectures, so I can submit them for review, but mock doesn't seem to want to even initialize the environment for architectures other than what the system is running on. I'm trying this from a i686 box. I just did a fresh install of mock, and cleaned out /var/lib/mock. When I run mock -r fedora-9-ppc --init, I get all kinds of dependency errors. Am I going about these test builds entirely wrong, or did I just miss something?

Thanks,
=-Jameson
