Hello Fedora!
Recently I installed PPTP and follow all the guides in the internet but I could not make this works. Im thinking its a problem with a kernel module .ko in Fedora 17.
Check this.
Code:
[root@fedora-17-amd64-kde ~]# pppd call core
Couldn't open the /dev/ppp device: No such device or address
pppd: Please load the ppp_generic kernel module.
Any one know how to solve this problem?
My kernel version
Code:
[root@fedora-17-amd64-kde ~]# uname -r
3.3.8-profitbricks
And my log
Code:
Nov 27 19:01:38 fedora-17-amd64-kde pppd[11967]: Couldn't open the /dev/ppp device: No such device or address
Nov 27 19:01:38 fedora-17-amd64-kde pppd[11967]: Please load the ppp_generic kernel module.
I really want to use OpenVPN, but the server device dont works great with OVPN on the release of the stable frimware.
EDIT:
I also try to copy the ppp_generic module to the kernel directory but didn't works
Code:
[root@fedora-17-amd64-kde ~]# locate ppp_generic
/usr/lib/modules/3.3.4-5.fc17.x86_64/kernel/drivers/net/ppp/ppp_generic.ko
/usr/lib/modules/3.3.8-profitbricks/kernel/lib/ppp_generic.ko
/usr/lib/modules/3.6.7-4.fc17.x86_64/kernel/drivers/net/ppp/ppp_generic.ko
