IP cameras stopped working
After the intial set-up of Fedora 17, I could open Firefox and view my web cams around the grounds without any problems. After 2 updates through YUM Extender, they stopped working. I only get a screen listing the applications that are enabled. I get no video, no set-up options, and no controls whatsoever. The ipcam is a Trendnet TV-IP110.
Aso, the live radar play feature of "Weather.com" has also stopped working. "Accuweather.com" play feature works fine.
I hear in the back of my head,"If it works, don't fix it". Updates....yeah sure.

Re: IP cameras stopped working
I'd take a look in /var/log/yum.log to see what you updated in that time frame.
Yum also has a fancy "yum history" command that would show what packages were in the last 2 sets. See the "man yum" documentation via a command window, yum history is pretty complex
My guess would be the firefox java plugin got turned off somehow (do the Trendnet cameras use java?
Look in Tools->Add Ons -> Plugins and make sure the "Java (TM) Plugin" is active
I'd really like to set up some IP cams at my house but doing all the wiring for cat 5 is not something I want to do. Did you use powerline networking. I already use a powerline network but adding powerline nodes just for each camera would get expensive and wasteful

Re: IP cameras stopped working
Weather.com uses flash, accuweathe uses gifs.
Your flashplayer is broken

Re: IP cameras stopped working
I'll dig into the flashplayer, maybe roll it back to install date and repost. give me 48 hrs, gotta fix the car first, then the computer.
As for wiring, I have some CAT5E cabling and some wireless cameras. The wireless cams have to have a 50% or better signal due to the amount of data a live feed involves, otherwise they are just frustrating. The cabling I installed when adding on an addition and renovating my office. Definitely worth the work.

Re: IP cameras stopped working
I erased Flash-plugin and then reinstalled it, but to no avail. Youtube functions fine, as well as the videos on news sites, but the weaher map and the cameras do not. Is ther e way to roll back the updates, like a winows restore?

Re: IP cameras stopped working
Is your Firefox using Adblock Plus plugin? I've noticed that ABP will interfere with the correct workings of lots of flash stuff that is not ads. For example, I use wunderground.com for radar maps and if I have Adblock Plus enabled, the radar maps just show as a blank window. If that's it you can disable it just for your IP camera's page so you can still get the benefit of fewer ads elsewhere.

Re: IP cameras stopped working
I see you're using the icedtea-web plugin, that's the web plugin related to OpenJDK.
It might help to use the browser plugin from the Oracle Java JDK, some things don't work with the icedtea plugin. Was it working earlier with the icedtea plugin?

Re: IP cameras stopped working
I just got the camera to work by enabling only:
Ied tea
shockwave
Both the Camera dn the weather site worked fine with them all running, but a recent update through YUM made them not work. Right now, the weather site does ot display the realtime radar map.
