DB2 on Fedora 12

Hi,

My system is:

OS: Linux 2.6.31.9-174.fc12.x86_64 x86_64
System: Fedora release 12 (Constantine)

In spite of knowing that the list of DB2 list of supported Linux platforms does not include Fedora, I tried installing DB2 ESE 9.5 FP6 and 9.7 FP1 on my system. Not surprisingly, it doesn't work. The installation seems to hang at the end and then commands such as db2start and db2stop either hang or give system errors. The db2diag.log reports "indeterminable operating system".

Has anyone been able to get a DB2 server working on Fedora 12?

Are there any existing or upcoming versions of DB2 that support Fedora 12?

Thanks. Michael

Re: DB2 on Fedora 12

i could install DB2 on Fedora 12 X86_64. db2admin start / stop, db2start / db2stop, etc... all the commands seem to work. I was using db2setup (GUI) in gdm. Before I executed this command, I had to change SELinux to Permissive.

Even though DB2 9.7 was installed successfully, I had different issue now. After I reboot the machine, I cannot login to gdm. After I select user and enter password, gdm screen is back to login screen after moment of blank screen.
