Check if you have it: rpm -qi gnome-mount
If you haven't, then use yum to install it. If you have, it may have had an accident: try un-installing and then re-installing.

Angry maybe i did something wrong

[root@localhost rgbrites]# yum install gnome-mount
Loaded plugins: dellsysidplugin2, refresh-packagekit
Setting up Install Process
No package gnome-mount available.
Nothing to do

Did i do anything wrong or is just Fedora 12 a system that everyone seems to complaint about. Maybe is just me, since Fedora 10 nothing seems to work...

A quick check at the Fedora site shows gnome-mount has been dropped! Why something else is trying to use it is beyond me, I'm sorry to say. Apart from finding help from someone more expert (if no-one's answering here, try at linuxquestions), the only thing I can think of is to try installing gnome-mount from the F11 repo.

So is the functionality from gnome-mount supposed to have been replaced? If so, why are things (e.g. CDs/DVDs) not automounting when inserted?

Edit: maybe it's only some discs in my case...just popped in an Ubuntu install disc and it gets mounted.

Edit 2: I guess it was just that I had only tried one disc, which doesn't want to be mounted (still not sure why), but others seem to automount with no complaint.

Re: cant mount any media

Same problems here. First time using Fedora but been using Linux a while now. Backup dvd was fine to begin with but 2nd one wouldn't automount. Tried first one again and now that one won't mount??!

Just checked a Linux Format dvd and that mounted fine...

USB is fine... Just some DVD's that were burnt using k3b on Debian lenny having problems. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Grepnix

EDIT: Mounting via terminal works fine.

Re: cant mount any media

Well, it's strange. The automount problem hit me too, suddenly. I used to be able to mount optical media w/o problem, now no optical media automounts anymore. But e.g. USB stick automounts normally.

EDIT: Latest udev (145-20) seems to have fixed the problem.
