One suggestion: after you have the proper kernel installed, don't exit yumex. It will check all the repos you have active for updates, and list them. If nothing else, you should see kmod-nvidia listed. Select that, along with anything else you find appropriate. (Probably, you'll want to update everything listed.) Then, when you reboot, you'll also have the kmod-nvidia your PAE kernel needs.
