Removing non pae kernel

I accidently installed kernel-3.5.0-2.fc17.i686. I have fedora 17 installed.
How do I remove it and install the lastest pae kernel and kmod-nvidia?
I tried the thread for removing a non pae kernel and got and error message.

From a terminal logged is as root:

yum -y install yumex

Once installed, launch yumex, you will find it under Applications/System Tools

Select the option All

It will take a few minutes to fill ....... be patient

then do search for "kernel"

Select both the one you want to uninstall and the one you wish to install, then select Apply

Don't worry about the nividia at this stage as it should be removed automagically with the kernel, once the new kernel is installed and the other one removed, reboot and then install the nvidia drivers and you should be good to go.

One suggestion: after you have the proper kernel installed, don't exit yumex. It will check all the repos you have active for updates, and list them. If nothing else, you should see kmod-nvidia listed. Select that, along with anything else you find appropriate. (Probably, you'll want to update everything listed.) Then, when you reboot, you'll also have the kmod-nvidia your PAE kernel needs.

The easiest way to install a PAE kernel is something like

yum install kmod-nvidia-PAE

which should install the nvidia driver and the corresponding PAE kernel. After that you can remove the old kernel.

To update and make sure you always have the nvidia driver and corresponding kernel:

yum update kmod-nvidia-PAE
