Annoying 503 error in Firefox
Hi,
I'm not sure whether the the problem shown here either:
1. refers to this forum
2. needs fixing on vBulletin's side or Litespeed's
but I surely am/have been hit by this bug in F11 and now in F12 also, on various Firefox versions. So now I'm forced to use an alternative browser to be able to open threads here. Funny thing is, "New Posts" works fine but I can open a single thread, every other one gets a 503 error. However, the same thread, opened from New Posts window gets 503 while opened from email notifications it opens fine in Firefox in 75% of the tries.
I thought I should post it here in case a resolution appears on either vBulletin or Litespeed's side, we'll have a thread to discuss it.

Forget it unless you want to fund it ( $700 for 4 cpu support per year )
Code:
[root@localhost bin]# ./lswsctrl restart
[OK] License key verification passed! Software upgrade has expired.
[OK] lshttpd: pid=3265.

Hmm, grrreat piece of software then.
The only thing that actually bugs me is why no one else experiences this issue...

I found this. Don't know if it will solve your problem.

Thanks. Unfortunately it doesn't have any effect at all.

Sorry, not svn nor proxy related either.

I used to get the 503 errors in F12 once in a while. There's a thread somewhere in here about it, but the fix turned out to be simple. Just log out of fedoraforum, then log back in and the 503 errors go away. I haven't see it in F13, but I got it once yesterday while testing F14.

In Privoxy the solution for 503 errors is to set the keep-alive-timeout to 0
Maybe it works for firefox too as a work around.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.ht...-alive.timeout
Is a DNS problem I think, because I can't access some pages but when I use proxies that do the DNS look up on the other side they go through using socks 4a or 5.

Strangely...it seems to work. Which is a bit puzzling since I've erased the cache multiple times, but never thought of actually logging out. Thanks dd_wizard. I'll test this workaround next time I get the error and report back.
