Angry Fedora 11 - J2SE Plugin version 1.6.0_07

I've just finished installing Oracle E-Business Suite R12 on Fedora 11 on my desktop at home. I have everything running (database and services) and I can login to application through Firefox 3.5.3. The problem I'm having is that I can't bring up the forms. I click on item and applet starts, but no forms load. I get message that says I need J2SE Plugin version 1.6.0_07. Oracle built in this requirement and I don't know how to get around it. I don't see this version of java in Fedora and it would be nice so that it is in the list of java versions to use. I can't seem to find it on Sun's web site. Can anyone guide me? Cliff - vzd1s33v@yahoo.com

Thanks. I think this will be very helpful. If I can get around Oracle asking for 1.6.0_07, I will be good to go. Cliff

Cool I found the jdk-6u7-linux-i586-rpm.bin

I'll give it a try later tonight. I'm new to this, but I don't remember seeing the jre for this version. Anyway. I hope it goes well with the forms. If it works, I can move on and do this with a bigger hard drive. I've only got about 35gb left of a 320gb drive

Since you're low on disk space, perhaps the JRE instead of JDk would be better after all ?

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 up and running on Fedora 11 on a PC at home.

Thanks to everyone. I was able to get Oracle E-Business Suite R12 up and running on Fedora 11 on a PC at home. I am able to access all pages and forms and run processes. I ran out of brain matter trying to get Fire Fox to re-link. I am going to do it again on a 500gb drive because this drive is only a 320 and it will be a cleaner install. I will go back and take a look at Fire Fox and maybe un-install and re-install to see if that does the trick on the current system. I downloaded 2 other browers in Fedora 11 and they linked with the java plugins just find. Hmmmmnnnn..... I may even buy a Oracle subscription.

Now its almost time to try the new PeopleSoft FSCM and new PeopleTools, etc.... It will be interesting to see if Oracle improved PeopleSoft/PeopleTools to work with something else besides Microsoft Windows and Microsoft office. More to come.

You might [also] try upgrading to latest JRE-1.6.0_u16 - I currently have:
Code:
jre-1.6.0_16-fcs.i586
