If you're running Gnome, it's called Screenshot (/usr/bin/gnome-screenshot).

It should be installed by default.

AFAIK, you should be able to run /usr/bin/gnome-screenshot, either from a terminal or after hitting Alt-F2.

I had never heard of Shutter, but I just checked: it exists for F17 and it runs fine. It's in Fedora's repository:

Code:
sudo yum install shutter
Works for me.

Code:
$ rpm -q shutter
shutter-0.87.3-2.fc17.noarch

how about scrot ?

no UI so need gmrun or something, maybe a hot key ?

I think you will need to install it too, and I don't know if it's in f17 I'm still using f16

Re: ScreenShot/Screen Capture - Fedora 17

efid845, may I suggest that you familiarize yourself with yum?
For starters, if you want to search something on the repositories try (using shutter as the example):
yum search shutter
or
yum list *shutter*

yum and yum-utils like repoquery can do a lot of things. Also you can search for packages with the Add/Remove software or with yumex (a graphical package manager not installed by default).

PrntScrn and Alt+PrntScrn both work as expected for me (Fedora 17, GNOME 3, UK keyboard).

In FC16, Screenshot is under Applications/Accessories - and is also called upon press of the [PrtScrn] button. I can't speak to FC17 (yet).

It's the same in F17, at least for the packages I selected in the DVD install (I've no idea about the default package selection or live CD install).
