Display distorted after booting from Fedora 25 Live DVD

I wanted to upgrade my system to Fedora 25.
After booting from the Live DVD the display shows completely distorted.
(Just diagonal sripes.)

The 64 bit DVD operates fine.
I tested it on another computer.

Has it to do with the graphic controllers?
The system is an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64 processor.

Re: Display distorted after booting from Fedora 25 Live DVD

I have one of those boards but haven't used the onboard GPU for quite some time. I don't think they are supported too well with current kernels.

If you are trying the F25 Workstation DVD I'd recommend trying XFCE instead. If that is also corrupt then you know the GPU will never work properly in F25. The Workstation DVD will be running Wayland by default now but if you load in the XFCE it still runs in traditional Xorg and is far less GPU intensive.

What operating system and desktop environment are you trying to upgrade from anyway? If Fedora 23 or above it would be possible to do an in-place upgrade rather than a clean install. If older then a clean install is advisable anyway.

Same issue here, you need something less heavy. The most bang for your buck will be the cinnamon spin and you won't have the same issues.
