Korora 25 has Been Released

Korora 25 has been released. As always it is based on the current version of Fedora but includes all the extras many people add to Fedora.

There are 5 desktop environments this time as KDE Plasma returns. There is also Gnome, Xfce, Cinnamon and Mate.

Re: Korora 25 has Been Released

I read on the website: "SELinux enabled"
Isn't this default in Fedora anyway? On my system it was (enforcing).

Yes it is. I believe it was added for non Fedora people. If you read the Why Fedora page you will see SELinux was one of the reasons Korora was based on Fedora when it was reborn.

Re: Korora 25 has Been Released

If you've based the MATE spin on the default Fedora 25 packages you may need to refer users to this post. 1.16 now runs natively in GTK+3 and compiz desktop rendering needs a couple of steps to work properly.

It's entirely new for Fedora 25, Fedora 24 was still GTK+2 unless users specifically added Wolfgang's COPR repo to use development packages.

Re: Korora 25 has Been Released

This time Korora seems to be released soon after Fedora GA.

Very cool!

Thanks for the update. We used to set Compiz as standard but haven't for a couple of releases. I'll make a note of this in case we get asked.

Re: Korora 25 has Been Released

I have just installed Korora 25 and its working great, I am only using it as postinstallerf wont install multimedia codecs for some reason in fedora 25 pure and i kind of need them.
But both fedora and Korora 25 have hit it out of the ballpark with 25 as most of the issues i had with DNF seem to be gone at last

Re: Korora 25 has Been Released

I just had 3 successful upgrade experiences from K24 to K25. A custom desktop, thinkpad T61, and T420. Well done and thanks.
