Re: HPLIP does not detect usb printer after update

Thank you, Gordon64.
Package rsyslog-8.25.0-2.fc25.x86_64 is already installed
And shows enabled.

Did as instructed in localhost:631/admin
Immediately, problem-reporter flashed a system problem:

Code:
The system has encountered a problem and recovered.

kernel-core
4.10.5-200.fc25.x86_64

cannot be reported

A kernel problem occurred, but your kernel has been tainted (flags:GW). Kernel maintainers are unable to diagnose tainted reports.

But I could continue on your instructions step by step, and after restarting cups.service, 'add printer' showed the hp1020 on usb. Printer addition was successful. 'Print test page' shows the print queue for a few seconds and then dissappears.
http://localhost:631/printers/HP_Las...jobs=completed
shows the job as completed. But the printer did not print any page.
Access log and Page log are empty. Error log "not found".

Also, hplip now shows the printer as connected, status:idle, previous print job completed. (Where did the job go?).

No error messege. Jourbalctl lists the following, repeated seven times.

Code:
[root@localhost recj]# journalctl -u cups -e

Does the kernal problem (Vyour kernel has been tainted (flags:GW))have a significance here? Is it possible to repair?

Thanks
