How i configure a pppoe conection over wlan0?
hello, i'm Guillermo from Chile, and I'm new to Fedora, but I've been trying linux since a time. The problem is that i can't get a pppoe conection working over a wireless network, in windows I have to connect to the router first, and then put in my user and password to get connected, but i don't know how to do this on fedora, i get connected to the router through network manager, and ping is ok, but when i try to make a new xDSL connection i don't know how to make it work through the wireless network that is established and working with my router, any help will be considered, thanks
PD: sorry, but as you may know english is not my native language

So how are you connecting to the router in windows? Are you using a web browser to do it and entering a web configuration screen on the router?
You could try right clicking the network manager icon in the system tray, choose connection information and look at the default route, and try to connect to your router by its ip address. Let's say the ip address of the router is 192.168.1.1
Open firefox, put in http://192.168.1.1 and hit enter.

thank for the reply, but the wireless connection is ok, in fact wehen i put de ip of the router in firefox i can see the router configuration page. but i have to put in my ISP user and pass to get connected, but when i create a new DSL connection in network manager i can't get it working, it doesn't start, i also tried in "system --> administration --> network" and i created a "new xDSL" but i don't know how to make the DSL conection work trough wlan0, beacuse my router is configured to not put in the user/pass automatically due to some problems i had with my ISP (when it was configured to put in my user/pass, i had many ports blocked, so they change my configuration to get all the ports working ok)

yes, that's what i want to do, but entering the mac direction of my wlan didn't work for me, when i try to run pppoe-setup the script asks me to put an "eth" device wich is connected to the pppoe modem, but i don't have a way to put "wlan0" instead of "eth0"

If you have a router why do you need to make a pppoe connection from the client side?, your router have RJ11 connector in the WAN side? or is Ethernet (RJ45) in all ports?.. do you have a DSL bridge?..
If you have a DSL bridge, connect the DsL to the router in the WAN port, Configure the router to make PPPoe for you with the username and password and then the router will be doing the pppoe connection not your laptop, so when you need to connect you only put the WPA or WEP or whatever and the router will give you an ip address and voulez!.. you are done.!
PM if you need any assistance (hablo español).

i used to have my router configured to manage the pppoe, but with that configuration i had a lot of problems triyng to download from p2p, so i called my ISP (because they changed the router password, so i can't enter the configuration page of the router) and they changed my configuration to the kind of connection i have now. by the way, thanks for posting a reply, forums are the soul of internet, and also they're the key to make linux the standard OS
