Broadcom rpm

Well, I googled around and didn't find a thing for a basic Broadcom driver, I see everything else for all these multi-gigabit b/g/n drivers and all I want is a basic broadcom driver for my Dell laptop. I was able to use the same driver for my desktop with windows xp pro as with my 2004 laptop running windows 7. But still no avail for the same Linux driver. If anyone knows where to just download the rpm I would be very happy. Thanks in advance.

Multigigabit b/g/n ?!!? What ARE you talking about. 802.11n has a theoretical limit of 0.6gbps, but no one will ever see that.

The drivers are mostly built into the kernel and there is USUALLY nothing to install.

What chipset is in your laptop ? Or use the
lspci -nnk
command then post the wireless driver section, for example

03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 [8086:4238] (rev 35)

Right now, GRUB just bit the dust, so I'm trying opensuse. Having a lot of trouble--er, fun with it about now.

Broadcom wireless might be a problem sometimes. Here is a How-to for broadcom wireless cards - http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=239922

See if your card is one of the cards supported and try ... I have tried this in F17 for a friend and it worked in my case although I do not remember what card was installed. May be 4309.
