I have vsftpd setup on my laptop and desktop and like to use my Galaxy S to "dial into" my laptop/desktop and stream my video library to my TV through ftp. When I connect to my desktop to stream videos everything works fine. However, when I try to connect to my laptop I can't seem to list any directories. These directories are listable on my desktop. When trying to do ftp from the laptop itself through the terminal, I try to change to the desired directory but when trying the ls command, I get a "500, oops: 421 service not available, connection closed error". I have not touched the vsftpd.conf on either the desktop or laptop yet only the desktop lets me connect and stream.
