I am new to Fedora, this is the first time I attempt to use Linux generally.
I had a great installation, everything is working fine except my Audio Interface - a Yamaha Steinberg CI 1.
Is there any way to make this thing work?
Hello, and welcome to the forum. Checking on the manufacturers support website, they only provide drivers for Max OS X and Windows, nothing for Linux. I have no idea if the Windows driver would work installed into Wine or not.
A windows driver wont work in linux as theres a whole different kernel for a start. from what i can see regarding your interface is on the outset its a strait usb compliant device so "should" be plug and play but i think the steinberg bit (being windows and mac) have put a block in the device so that it needs either a windows or osx driver present to work (i guess its just steinberg protecting themselves)
Soooo to cut a long story short. it looks like you wont have any luck with it
