What is updated when update ???
Maybe a stupid question, but... when I choose update software from the administration tab in F10, there is made an update to ALL installed programs or only for the base one ? I mean, if I installed something like sunbird or k3b or adobe (that are not included in the DVD installation), they are also updated or I must separate check for updates for these programs ?
Thank you !

If you installed something from a repository, even one that you've manually added, such as the Adobe repository, any updates that are available will be offered. If you accept the defaults then all the updates will be applied. If you've installed something manually, say you built an application from source because it's not offered in the repositories, then it's up to you to update those packages.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the answer ! I build nothing, (I never succeedd !), so everything is from a repository or by a rpm file. The programs that I have installed locally with from rpm files with direct command (-ivh) or by double clicking and chose install with package installer, will be also automatically updated, I suppose ?

I don't believe so.

What if you, say, manually download a package from the repos? And then manually install it and run a yum update later?

My guess is that it would be included in the next update.

Any rpms installed are going to be updated depending on which yum repolist is enabled.
