Re: how to install amd/ati driver on fedora 25 ?

There is no way to install those drivers as the proprietary Catalyst driver is no longer being developed by AMD, and is not supported on the new X server or Wayland. There is the new AMDGPU driver which is automatically enabled, but it only works with new AMD video cards. Also, AMD has absolutely no plans for supporting the pre-GCN GPUs (lower than the 7600/8400 series) with the new AMDGPU driver see here. Your only choice is to use the open source radeon driver, which is installed and enabled by default with the kernel.

Re: how to install amd/ati driver on fedora 25 ?

Hi, I have an ATI M230, I'm facing the same problem with Fedora 25.
How can I use the default driver provided by the kernel? Or how can I check if it is in use?

The default driver provided by the kernel is used automatically. If you are running GNOME3 you can go to System Settings => Details and look what graphics card it is using.

Re: how to install amd/ati driver on fedora 25 ?

In GNOME3 and GNOME on Xorg is not visible, only with this command I can see the videocard "lspci | grep -i VGA" .
Now I'm using KDE Plasma and it's the same.
First problem, the default kernel driver is not working, second problem I will see how to install the AMD Driver, if it's possible with some trick.

To get the driver being used for your video card you can use the following command in a terminal:
Code:
[tom@owl ~]$ lspci -nnk |grep -A 3 -i vga
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [GeForce 210] [10de:0a65] (rev a2)
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device [1458:3530]
        Kernel driver in use: nouveau
        Kernel modules: nouveau
To get all the X drivers installed on your system you can use the following command in a terminal:
Code:
[tom@owl ~]$ rpm -qa |grep -i xorg-x11-drv
xorg-x11-drv-libinput-0.19.1-3.20160929.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-ati-7.7.1-1.20160928git3fc839ff.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-qxl-0.1.4-10.20160929gite13d28ee.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-fbdev-0.4.3-25.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-1.0.13-1.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-26.20160929.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-vmware-13.0.2-12.20150211git8f0cf7c.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-vesa-2.3.2-25.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-evdev-2.10.4-1.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-wacom-0.33.0-2.20160929gitb61d1711.fc25.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-openchrome-0.5.0-2.fc25.x86_64
To search for amd drivers you can use the following command (I have used it from a root shell becaue I only use dnf from such):

Code:
[root@owl ~]# dnf search amd
Last metadata expiration check: 3 days, 18:31:01 ago on Sun Jan 15 15:21:05 2017.
============================================== N/S Matched: amd ===============================================
xorg-x11-drv-amdgpu.x86_64 : AMD GPU video driver
<snip>
Then, if it's what you need, you can install with dnf, e.g.
Code:
dnf install xorg-x11-drv-amdgpu.x86_64
