Exclamation Urgent Sound Help

I downloaded the linux realtek drivers from the realtek site. When I installed it through ./install it gave a bunch of error messages and now I have no sound! How do I reset to use the original fedora sound drivers. In XP it is so easy: go to device manager and click uninstall --> on reboot it will install the default drivers.

I have no sound

HELP NEEDED URGENTLY

I would like to attach the copy and pasted text from the command prompt window but I can't figure out how to do that. I already saved it to a txt file.

The install script may have placed files anywhere on the system, so it may be tricky to track them all down and revert your system to the stock drivers only. What's the output of "lsmod"?

BTW, you can attach that .txt file here to your post.

How exactly do I put an attachment to this post.

I still need urgent help with this problem. I have to have it fixed in 6 hours or I have to use MS Windows as my main OS.

Hm, I can't see any obvious modules that the realtek install script would have installed. You can attach the file by clicking "Go Advanced".

It doesn't look like much was changed, the install script seems to have cleaned up after itself... Why not just reinstall Fedora? It should take under a half hour.

Fedora has sound drivers. Don't go to other places to get drivers for anything. Ironically the epitome of centralization Microsoft. Is very decentralized while the epitome of openess, fedora has everything in one place.

It's a head scratcher. I know. It's like making polythicness monolithic and monolithcness polylithc.

If I reinstall I have to wait an hour after backing up files otherwise the computer is too hot and fedora thinks the CD is randomly corrupted. Fedora always runs considerably warmer than XP but it is faster. I will do it any ways since I don't have much of a choice. (already done)

Are you running on a laptop? If not I would get yourself a Arctic Cooling anti-vibration fan $20 that should be near dead silent but help airflow.
