Good afternoon,

I already installed Fedora 18 on my notebook and it can't detect wireless network although the wireless network is on.

Please help, is there any way to solve this?

thank you very much

Re: can't detect wifi connection

You need to post some details
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=282819

The main questions is -what is your wifi hardware. "lspci -nnk" command may help.
That will also list any driver installed (if it's a PCI device)..
"ip link" will show all the network interfaces.
"ip addr" and "ip route" will show if it's configured.

Re: can't detect wifi connection

my apology for my bad opening post

actually i was facing two problems. the first is about the wireless network connection. the second, i installed fedora 18 after windows 8 and the grub couldn't detect my windows boot loader. so, i decided to format and to reinstall windows 8 only, therefore i can't run the command "lspci -nnk". now, i only have windows 8 installed. after what i have faced, for now, i have not brave enough to install fedora.

i don't know how to detect my wireless adapter series, but by checking windows device manager, seems that it is Broadcom, but i don't know specifically.

my device is Lenovo Z480 with Intel core i7.

thank you.

sorry, i forgot some information, before i reinstall my pc, i have tried the solution posted here

http://unix.stackexchange.com/questi...18-no-wireless

the result for the command

ifconfig wlan0 up && iwlist wlan0 scanning

is something like "no scan result"

thank you
