F18 Development

Pretty much exactly what it sounds like it is. This is the place to discuss and assist in the community development of F18, post Alpha.

WARNING: Any pre-release versions, Beta included, are for experienced testers only. Back up all existing data and read all threads in the version Development Forum before attempting an install. Errors can and will likely occur which may include data destruction or inability to boot other partitions on any and possibly all attached hard drives.

While FedoraProject needs and appreciates testers, you must remember to report issues directly to Bugzilla, after checking for pre-existing bugs.

I'm not able to UPDATE F18 beta
Is it normal? the only app that's available to update is apparently Adobe Flash Player

FEDORA 18 Beta 64 bit
GNOME 3.6.2
Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz × 2 GByte ram

Two things you can do.

cd /etc/yum.repos.d
sudo vi *testing*
change the line which reads
enable=0

to

enable=1

Save and redo yum update

or

sudo yum --enable-updates-testing update

If you are getting errors, please share them.

If you expect updates, you might try 'yum clean all' or 'dnf clean all' to force updating the local cache.

If you want to help test packages, enable the updates-testing repo.

Re: I'm not able to UPDATE F18 beta

if you don't have updates-testing enabled, and you updated in the last few days, it's pretty normal. Very few packages are going into the stable repo, because of the release freeze. The only packages going in are the ones that went into the RC builds, and there weren't many of those.
