I Can't connect to the Internet after installing Fedora 17

Hi, i'am a new user of Fedora.

Just after i'am installing Fedora 17 Live CD, i can't connect to the Internet via my modem or Wifi, when I click to my modem, all system is blocked !!

Can you Help me please.

Please let me know the what kind of modem you are using , is it land line connected ADSL modem or Dongle?

I use 3G modem (HUAWEI Mobile Broadband E173) without land line. And I'am already configure it on Connection Manager on Fedora 17 (choosing my country, connection provider, APN, ...)
The same problem happen when I attempt to connect to a wifi network, when I choose the Wifi network all system is blocked !
I think the problem is in my network card driver.

I think I may need the same help with a similar problem. I managed to configure wvdial to work and the terminal shows "starting ppd"...on to listing the 4 addresses as expected. Using the GUI (wvdial is still open on the terminal) I tried Firefox, Kmail, and Thunderbird and all report they failed to connetc to server or no host. I checked the firewall, and it is set at the default for Desktop. The network connection for 'wired' which I don't think I'm using is "System p4p1" and reads 'never used'--which Is true since I dont have any cable connection, just a telephone Robotics modem. Network connection also reads 'Connect auto' and 'Method Automatic (DHCP)'. So I also am looking for ideas on how to bridge what I think is a working connection (wvdial) and the desktop internet programmes eg Firefox. I've run out of specific questions for my problem and so am looking for ideas about what to try. Is this similar to your problem?
(As an aside, my old computer just died, forcing a new ASUS i7 purchase. I couldn't load F17 on the old one. Now I can't go back to F15, because it will nor load on this new computer. Curious!)

Perhaps, my problem is :
If not Fedora 17 installing the drivers of networking card and Wifi by default, I need to install it manually, in this case how I can download the drivers of networking card and Wifi and install it on my Acer aspire One 722 laptop ?

I think you may try to update your kernel.This might help you to get network drivers.
