virtual machine manager does't works

Hello.

I have the virtual machine manager in fedora 11.

On Dell Inspiron 1545 (dual core, 2GB RAM)

I can not run any linux distribution virtualized

Using Qemu as engine

The virtualized system boots but after not working.

Try distributions of 32 and 64 bit

any suggestions?

I never used the virtual machine manager it self. I always did it with qemu it self. It works all most well.

Create an image:

qemu-img raw filename.img 8G

Boot the installation:

qemu -hda filename.img -cdrom /dev/cdrom -boot d -std-vga

Boot after installation is fished:

qemu -hda filename.img -boot c

The virtual machine manager does this steps in the backgrund. May it helps you to find the mistake.

With the commands that you provided I can't configure qemu, but with this guide (RECOMMENDED) works well: http://www.kriptopolis.org/qemu

The problem is...



I think my cpu IS 64 bits capable:

model name : Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4200 @ 2.00GHz

With virtual box 3 I got the same error... (32 bits cpu...)

I have fedora 64 installed, but the virtual machines detects my cpu as 32 bits processor
