I am running the KDE spin of Fedora 18.
When I rebooted a couple of hours ago KDE wont start. I get the login screen, but after logging in it freezes at the "Starting kde" screen (harddrive, wrench, globe, ...). The panels are visible, but transparent. And none of their contents show (buttons, tasks, ...). Right clicking the desktop displays a transparent square.
If I type something on the desktop, the run command dialog shows and i can run none KDE applications such as xterm and firefox. But when I try to run KDE applications such as Konsole or KCalc: they start but only appears as empty windows.
Both these applications prints the same error message in the console: X Error: BadShmSeg (invalid shared segment parameter) 128
I cant think of anything strange that I installed or did prior to the devastating reboot. Though there was a lot of updates between reboots.
I tried all three kernels in my grub menu, but with the same result.
Pentium 4 processor.
