Fedora 18 - Can't Connect to WPA2-Personal

Hello,

I'm pretty new at all this so forgive my ignorance.

I do not seem to be able to connect to WPA2-Personal networks using Fedora 18. I am able to connect to unsecured wireless networks just fine. I am also able to use wired connections with no problem. The machine is actually running QubesOS but I believe that this issue is more related to Fedora 18 as that's the template that it's using.

System Information:
Code:
[user@netvm ~]$ uname -a
Linux netvm 3.7.6-2.pvops.qubes.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Feb 27 10:19:50 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[user@netvm ~]$ lspci -vvv
00:01.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6205 [Taylor Peak] (rev 34)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6205 AGN

	Region 0: Memory at f3000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
	Capabilities: <access denied>
	Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
What happens when I try to initiate a connection to a new or existing WPA2 Connection:
Code:
wlan0: SME: Trying to authenticate with 06:18:1a:31:86:1a (SSID='BSC Test' freq=5745 MHz)
wlan0: Trying to associate with 06:18:1a:31:86:1a (SSID='BSC Test' freq=5745 MHz)
wlan0: Associated with 06:18:1a:31:86:1a

wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED bssid=00:00:00:00:00:00 reason=3
What I don't understand is that it seem to be connecting and then immediately disconnecting. If more info is need please let me know. Thank you for any insight that people can provide.

Re: Fedora 18 - Can't Connect to WPA2-Personal

First, it might help to be sure that it's not NetworkManager causing the issue.

http://home.roadrunner.com/~computer.../wireless.html

gives some testing suggstions.

Re: Fedora 18 - Can't Connect to WPA2-Personal

I've run through the NetworkManager trouble shooting guide. I don't think it was the cause.

When I turned NetManager off:
Code:
[user@netvm ~]$ sudo chkconfig NetworkManager off
Note: Forwarding request to 'systemctl disable NetworkManager.service'.
rm '/etc/systemd/system/network.target.wants/NetworkManager-wait-online.service'
rm '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/NetworkManager.service'
[user@netvm ~]$ sudo systemctl disable NetworkManager.service

[user@netvm ~]$ tail /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log

The module is loaded:

EDIT:
This is some more verbose output of wpa_supplicant. Again it seems to be making the association but then hangs:

Re: Fedora 18 - Can't Connect to WPA2-Personal

Okay so I've had something resembling success. However, I am still unable to connect to the desired networks and am seeking some feedback as to what is going on. If there is anything else I can post that would help explain whats going on please let me know.

I am able to connect to a WPA2 network (It is not the one I want to be connected to though). Here is the network:
Code:
Cell 01 - Address: 00:18:0A:31:86:1A
                    Channel:11
                    Frequency:2.462 GHz (Channel 11)
                    Quality=45/70  Signal level=-65 dBm
                    Encryption key:on

And here is that wpa_supplicant log from that failed connection:

wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED bssid=00:00:00:00:00:00 reason=3

I don't see what is different about these two connections...
In addition I've had difficulty in connecting to other networks that are similar. Always the same CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED reason: reason=3.
I can connect to the second network I've described just fine in windows. However, i CANNOT connect to that network from an Ubunutu 12.10 live CD.

What is causing this issue? Also what does "reason=3" mean? Thank you again for any assistance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I have read that 11n can cause issues. I disabled 11n but this has not solved the issue. The wpa_supplicant returns the same information as before.

---------- Post added at 07:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:07 PM ----------

So for some reason I am now able to connect to one of the WPA2-personal networks that I was having difficulty with earlier...
I have made no changes to modules or configurations.
I have not changed the passkey I was using to connect.
I did not make any changes to the router nor did I restart it.
The ONLY thing I've done to change the system was add an additional 8GB of RAM for a total of 16GB(which has nothing to do with it).

I'm pretty annoyed by this but whatever. It's fixed for now.
