Problem listening to music with sirius.ca radio website

I am currently having problems connecting to the music streams from sirius.ca, using Firefox 13.0.1 and gnome-mplayer 1.6.0-2 on Fedora 17 x64. I get the error message that a file is not found, ~/.cache/gnome-player/plugin/gecko-mediaplayerrevwyk. The last 6 letters vary but the rest is the same. I checked and indeed there are no files in that directory.

I tried the same exercise with a Gentoo system I have with slightly older software .. Firefox 13.0 and gnome-mplayer 1.6.0, and it works, and the files do appear in the plugin directory.

Back on Fedora 17, I tried substituting the Totem plugin for the gnome-mplayer one, and it simply crashed on a segmentation error when I tried to connect to the stream.

Note that Sirius.ca has a userid and password associated with the stream request, and this probably complicates things.

I can listen to Sirius on Fedora using the application pyxis, so the problem does seem to be with either Fedora or gnome-mplayer or perhaps both, but not with mplayer which pyxis uses.

Re: Problem listening to music with sirius.ca radio website

Yes, Adobe flash 11.2r202 is installed, and other flash sites work fine. But I did find the source of the problem. It is SELinux.

This log item may give a clue :
Jul 4 22:04:47 localhost kernel: [ 143.428330] type=1400 audit(1341453887.173:4): avc: denied { create } for pid=1571 comm="plugin-containe" name="gecko-mediaplayerkmrdek" scontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:mozilla_plugin_ t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=unconfined_u:object_r:user_home_t:s0 tclass=file

Now my question is how to configure the system so that I don't have to disable SELinux to use the service.

Incidentally SELinux did not give me any notification of this,

On re-enabling SELinux and rebooting, the file contexts were reset, and now Sirius works. The problem may have been related to the fact that I updated Fedora 16 to Fedora 17 using preupgrade... in any case, for me the problem is resolved.
