Using the tun0 network interface

Hi all,

I'm trying to connect to a VPN via my cellphone. So I've setup a PPP connection with wvdial (that work), then configured the OpenVPN client and lauched it :

Code:
#openvpn /etc/my.conf
...
Tue Dec 1 01:20:33 2009 us=341042 /sbin/ip link set dev tun0 up mtu 1500
Tue Dec 1 01:20:33 2009 us=343007 /sbin/ip addr add dev tun0 local XX.XX.XX.XX peer YY.YY.YY.YY
WWTue Dec 1 01:20:35 2009 us=416825 NOTE: unable to redirect default gateway -- Cannot read current default gateway from system
Tue Dec 1 01:20:35 2009 us=417242 /sbin/ip route add VV.VV.VV.VV/32 via YY.YY.YY.YY
Tue Dec 1 01:20:35 2009 us=419777 Initialization Sequence Completed
WRWRWRWRWRWRWRWRWRWRWRWRWR
things look pretty cool to me in ifconfig :

Code:
ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
          inet addr:ZZ.ZZ.ZZ.ZZ P-t-P:WW.WW.WW.WW Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:5500 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:5045 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:3
          RX bytes:3471291 (3.3 MiB) TX bytes:1103704 (1.0 MiB)

tun0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
          inet addr:XX.XX.XX.XX P-t-P:YY.YY.YY.YY Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)

Problem : it might sound very stupid but I have no idea how to have my applications use tun0 !! (since I was always using NetworkManager which automaticly choose the VPN connection)

Thanks for your help,
