warzone rc3 - OpenGL not found

Im trying to compile the rc3 of warzone and getting this error:

Quote:
configure: error: OpenGL library not found
Fedora 17 64bit with nvidia precompiled driver on a GT9500 video card.

For the life of me, I have googled this and looked around off and on for about a month when time permits. However, I really cannot find anything on this.

Now if some gracious soul can point me in the right direction I can tryout the RC3 of warzone.

Please and thankyou,

coffee

Re: warzone rc3 - OpenGL not found

You likely need the mesa libraries. Try the package mesa-libGL-devel. You may also need mesa-libGLU-devel for instance.

Darn, The easy way out didnt work. Seems I have them installed. Makes me wonder what the compile options are when WZ is in the repos?

Anyways, That didnt seem to be it but I really enjoy the feedback. . Got any other ideas?

Need my fix soon....

Check the config.log file to see exactly why it's failing...

Re: warzone rc3 - OpenGL not found

I'm quite certain there's more in the log file than just that. It should show some linker error, or an error from the compiler about what header is missing. Pastebin the full file.

Re: warzone rc3 - OpenGL not found

Why are you trying to compile it instead of installing from the Fedora repo?

The rc3 version is already built for F17, so why re-invent the wheel?

If it's not in the repo, grab it from koji, download and install using yum.

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/b...buildID=360615

Edit:

to install from teh Fedora repo:

yum install warzone2100

Another edit:

You also need to grab warzone2100-sequences as well if you want the video files for warzone (it's a big file, 161Mb)

yum install warzone2100 warzone2100-sequences

----

But, if you just want to compile it from source, possibly as a learning experience, etc...

Here are the packages you need to have installed:

physfs-devel
qt-devel
glew-devel
SDL_net-devel
openal-soft-devel
bison
flex
zip
libpng-devel
libogg-devel
libvorbis-devel
quesoglc-devel
popt-devel
gettext
libtheora-devel
automake
desktop-file-utils

Re: warzone rc3 - OpenGL not found

I had no idea that the release candidate was in the repo. I thought RC2 was in the repo and wanted to move to RC3.

If so, I will just do that. Also, Thank you for the additional information.
