MySQL JDBC Driver missing

Hi,

I am trying access a mysql database using jdbc. I have tried several applications, but all of them fail with the message

com.mysql.jdbc.Driver not found

I have installed the mysql-connector-java rpm. Just doesnt seem to work still.

Is there another rpm I need to load?

Or is there some other problem I should look for?

Cheers

Brian

Sounds like your apps don't know where the mysql connector jar file is. Are these webapps, running under Tomcat? If so, then check if the mysql connector jar file is located in the ${TOMCAT}/shared/lib directory. If it isn't, then put it there and restart tomcat.

no, the apps are openoffice base, and MyJSQLView (a java class), not web apps.

Then put the mysql connector jar file in the ${JAVA_HOME}/jre/lib/ext directory.
