Cisco VPN - no username?

Hi,

I want to install a VPN under F19.
Network Settings > + > Cisco Anyconnect

The problem is, there is no field for entering:

USER NAME
USER PASSWORD
GROUP NAME
GROUP PASSWORD

What happened to these fields? Do I miss a package or so?

At the moment, I only can put in the gateway and when I activate the VPN a popp-up appears and basically nothing happens...

Re: Cisco VPN - no username?

I have a page on setting up vpnc. It's dated, but should still be good.

Re: Cisco VPN - no username?

Using vpnc should work with Cisco VPNS. DISCLAIMER---haven't used it in over 6 months due to a job change.

Re: Cisco VPN - no username?

But why would anyone remove a working and widely used vpn plugin?

Re: Cisco VPN - no username?

It worked so well, in the former versions of Fedora and it is basically destroyed. I have to search the web, and it seems that it is not documented, or I do not find it. :-(

Now, one has to fall back and make it manually with vpnc? This is a pain in the...

...and I really wonder who is responsible for this development. How is making the decisions about the packages that are removed at Fedora?

Re: Cisco VPN - no username?

vpnc currently works for me in F19 and it's really not that bad. in fact, if you have the .pfc file which you would normally import into the Cisco VPN, there is a script available online to convert it into the necessary config file for vpnc.

Re: Cisco VPN - no username?

Once I installed network-manager-applet rpm and rebooted the system everything started to work. The dialog box asking me for username/password showed up.

Code:
sudo yum install network-manager-applet
