How to stop updating 586 kernels

I want to just update 686 PAE kernel's and not 586. Its a waste of time and space. I looked around the repos and couldn't make heads or tails of what to edit out. Is there a way to "pin" out specific upgades? Thanks for any info.

Adding a line like

exclude=kernel*.i586

to /etc/yum.conf should do the trick.

Thank you. I googled but couldn't find specifics. Simple tricks are the simplest. Most howto's are so complex they tend to get lost in explanations.

if you have the current pae kernel installed then you should NOT be getting updates to a OLD 586 kernel
