Hmm... you did completely re-start Firefox, right ? Any chance that you have more than one instance of Firefox running ??

OK, let's try another approach; please post:
ls -lha /usr/lib/firefox*

OK:
ls -lha /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/

Assuming that you do NOT see libflashplugin.so listed, then:
sudo cp /home/eeedora/Desktop/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/

(Re)start web browser, and assess. You must re-start any open browser apps to see new plug-ins.

Then the copy (cp) command (silently) succeeded. Re-start Firefox and assess....

The standard Linux anti-virus software is clamav (standard Fedora repos: sudo yum install clamav), but in reality: there is little need, since there are no known Linux viruses "in the wild". Most of us keep anti-virus software only to manage our e-mails (and then only for the benefit of our friends, so we don't inadvertantly pass on viruses to them) and M$ Win* docs. Much more important is running a basic firewall, and avoiding unnecessary use of root privilege when running common apps.

Not having to fret over viruses and malware, nor having to defrag HDDs (virtually never required - there are not even utilities for this task), are some of the biggest advantages to Linux, IMHO.

V

P.S. Clamav does not provide constant "on access" scanning (nor do I know of any other A-V apps that do): you must specifically open it and tell it to scan stuff.
