Unhappy Can't configure mic in Fedora 11

First of all, sorry if I've created this in the wrong section - it seemed the most relevant.

I've installed Fedora 11 on my Samsung NC10 netbook. Linux never seems to automatically configure the correct settings for the mic however in Ubuntu all that needed was a little tweaking in the sound settings. Unfortunately in fedora these settings are different and in sound preferences I simply don't have an option to choose my mic or configure it in any way.

I often use skype and would like to try out Ekiga as the latest skype beta doesn't work correctly so any help is really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
