I seldom use Google Chrome, but there was a small glitch in Firefox, so I opened Chrome for the first time in maybe a month and my home page loaded as a black screen.

In fact, any site I went to simply comes up with pure black. If I open settings, all the page displays normally and there's no unusual settings that I can find. Right-click and 'view page source' or 'page info' also results in a black screen.
Firefox and Opera continue to display just fine.
I thought that it might just have been a glitched beta version, but there's a new update today and the darkness continues.
Package google-chrome-unstable.x86_64 0:22.0.1221.1-149058 will be updated
Package google-chrome-unstable.x86_64 0:22.0.1229.0-150285 will be an update (no joy with that one either)
So, since there's not a flurry of threads on this, I've got to assume that I've botched it all on my own and would appreciate anyone who can point out what's gone wrong.
BTW, removing and reinstalling results in the same blackness. And yeah, I've googled the issue and did see the April issues that apparently are now fixed by recent versions. (Wish I could read Russian for that one fix!)
