Python 3.2 tkinter not importing

>>> import tkinter
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
File "/usr/lib64/python3.2/tkinter/__init__.py", line 39, in <module>
import _tkinter # If this fails your Python may not be configured for Tk
ImportError: /lib64/libtk8.5.so: file too short
>>>

I have already installed 'tkinter' and 'python3-tools', anybody know how to fix this?

Re: Python 3.2 tkinter not importing

The 'tkinter' package is for Python 2.x. For Python 3.x you need to install the 'python3-tkinter' package.

Re: Python 3.2 tkinter not importing

What is the output of this command in a terminal window?:
Code:
ls -l /lib64/libtk8.5.so
On my F17 x86_64 system it shows:
Code:
$ ls -l /lib64/libtk8.5.so
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 1332056 Jan 14  2012 /lib64/libtk8.5.so
That file is provided by the tk package, which I assume you have installed.
